Written By Ric Ocasek, "All Mixed Up" is the last song on The Cars' 1978 self-titled first album. The song features Benjamin Orr (bass guitar) on lead vocals in the studio version, though Ocasek sang lead vocals on the demo version.
While not released as a single and not documented on any Billboard chart, the song has received widespread airplay on American FM rock radio stations. On the album, "All Mixed Up" is bridged together with "Moving in Stereo". Both songs are generally played together on AOR and Classic rock radio stations.
The song was also featured as the b-side to the single "Good Times Roll", issued as one 45 RPM record and as a white label promotional 12 inch single.
This song was later covered by the Red House Painters on their 1996 album, Songs for a Blue Guitar.
